Arguing for the case of free energy is anything but simple, because it's very complicated when considering that the composition of electrodynamic behavior is not composed of a singular element of behavior but is instead constructed of a handful of elements of construction transforming simple claims such as conservation of energy into a complicated affair of yeah some things are conserved but some things are not conserved because energy is not a singular phenomenon.
